Welcome to the Environmental Law Practice of Jonathan Roth. We are proud of our record of providng quality NJDEP environmental legal services for over 15 years. Insurance recovery matters, in which we concentrate our practice, are done on a contingency basis, meaning that you will only have to pay a fee if you recover money from your carrier. Most firms charge fees for this service, we don't. We also assist our clients with all NJDEP issues including oil tanks, litigation to recover cleanup costs, insurance recovery, permits, Spill Act Matters, Oil tank law, ISRA, penalties, etc.

The firm has over twenty-five years of experience in handling environmental matters for clients of all sizes from the Fortune 100 to mom and pop gasoline stations and residences with heating oil tank leaks. Included in the firm’s resume is environmental counsel to the City of Hoboken with regard to a large cost-recovery matter as well as trustee for a very active environmental not-for-profit group. Among the matters handled have been solid waste landfill regulatory compliance, ISRA compliance from preparation of the Initial Notice to the NJDEP to the receipt of a No Further Action Letter. Other federal and state cases have involved the Spill Act, Underground Storage Tank law, the Superfund Law, the Clean Air Act and the Clean Water Act.
We have also helped clients to negotiate real estate contracts which are most protective of their concerns regarding liabilities and future responsibilities with regard to contaminated parties, acting as counsel for sellers and buyers. This includes Brownfields as well as other types of polluted properties.
